JMU Nuance Winterguard [2007]

This is JMU’s winterguard at Western Branch, the song is “The Origin Of Love” performed by Rufus Wainwright, the song is about three different races of humans. The first is two men combined, the second, two women, and the third, a man and woman combined. The sabers are supposed to be men, the flags are the two girls, and the riffles are the mix of both. KLWMBC 2009 DrumBattle: KLDC vs Boonwattana Marching Band, Thailand

KLDC, after just a year, has finally entered its first ever drumbattle competition, the KL World Marching Band Competition 2009. Although we have been performing pretty much everywhere in KL and overseas, we have yet to actually test ourselves against other drumline groups out there. We came with no expectations at all. We didn’t hope to win; Rather, all that we wanted to do is just to win the crowd. Just like every single week of us performing for shows and events. Because, like all of our shows, you guys, the audience, are our real judges. And the support that you guys have shown, especially at 9am in the weekday morning, we couldn’t ask for more. Thanks guys! This is the final match between us and Boonwattana Marching Band, Thailand. It was a heavily intense fight, a newly created team fighting the Thailand champion team. We lost, but we are proud to have lost to the better team. Still, we managed to achieve our goals, which is to show the Malaysian people that this is our version of drumline, and that Malaysian bands too can be unique and cool if we work hard for it. Hopefully with this event (and our performance) the standards of our drumline will improve :) Thank you for making us the Malaysian Champion! See you next year! 17 November 2009 Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition 2009 DrumBattle Final KLDC vs Boonwattana Marching Band, Thailand Times Square, Bukit Bintang

Volunteer Winterguard, I LOVE THE 80′s!, at CIPA Finals

This was IT! The last show for Volunteer High School Winterguard’s VHS: I LOVE THE 80′s show! In the CIPA finals, Volunteer got the great honor of being voted this year’s FAVORITE GUARD of the entire Carolina Indoor Performance Association! WAY TO GO VOLUNTEER!!! You are a talented group of students and an amazing show, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year! I KNOW it will ROCK just as hard as you made the 80′s this year! (I was lucky to even get this video, it was SO packed in the place for Volunteer’s performance. Please beware of Mom and I screaming (we don’t mean to deafen people when we get excited!), and the clapping going on around us. The crowds get so loud at times that it drowns out the music, but that’s just how it goes when Volunteer is on the floor. It was the loudest we had heard that place all day, and they were the only ones who got done and there wasn’t not one person in the gym that was still sitting! You couldn’t even hear the last part of the song for all the cheering! Standing Ovation as always! I had to turn the camera off quickly because people were standing up in the way. My sister is still in the same spots, and the one leading Thriller again, in case you are wondering, yeah I followed her in one part of the video. Also, Sissy’s friend Desi is the soloist with the blue flag) WHO ROCKED THE HOUSE?! YOU DID! You fly HIGH, and now EVERYONE knows it!
